Coordinates library operations and oversees library facilities. Manages collection maintenance procedures, course reserves, and all public service functions. Controls access to library systems and updates library policies.
This position leads newly centralized Resource Sharing (RS) services for the University Library System (ULS). This position maintains standards for timely and efficient borrowing and lending of research materials not available within University of Pittsburgh for university affiliates to meet current and future university faculty and student needs. Lends material owned by the ULS to maintain commitments within external Resource Sharing partnerships. Works closely with Head of Fulfillment Systems and Services and Coordinator for Research Collections to develop, review, and maintain best practices and efficient workflows through concise documentation and training, and to review data to inform collection decisions. This is achieved through monitoring of workflows and statistics across platforms, formats, and locations. Collaborates to maintain appropriate platform configurations and new service models to improve library staff and user experience ensuring that service standards are consistently met. Maintains consortia agreements with national and international partners and ensures ULS accuracy and adherence to agreements. Provides leadership, management, hiring, and supervision of 4 FTEs, and indirect supervision of ~10 student employees. Reports to Head of Fulfillment Systems and Services.
