Rutgers University Libraries Health Sciences Libraries seeks a dynamic, creative, and service-oriented librarian to lead the Access Services department. This non-tenure track position reports to the Associate University Librarian for Health Sciences Libraries. The successful candidate will provide oversight to Access Services staff at the George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences in Newark and the Robert Wood Johnson Library of the Health Sciences in New Brunswick including day-to-day operations and performance of the department comprised of circulation, reserves, document delivery, interlibrary loan/resource sharing, collection maintenance and management, student workers coordination, oversight of facilities and security coordination, and computer support. The position directly supervises 10+ union employees, plus student workers.

This position represents the Health Sciences Libraries on the Rutgers University Libraries Fulfillment, Resource Sharing, and Digitization groups and works directly with the Libraries Human Resources and Budgeting Office. The successful applicant is expected to develop and propose policy, ensuring compliance with university and library best practices and shape an overall philosophy of Access Services for the Health Sciences Libraries. This position is responsible for providing recommendations related to organizational and strategic planning for related areas and working with Associate University Librarian for Health Sciences Libraries in Newark and the Associate Director of Health Sciences Libraries in New Brunswick to discuss priorities and vision for Access Services. This position is eligible for a hybrid flexible work arrangement.
