Active Member Participation Drives $16.5 Million in Collective Cost Avoidance and Other Benefits
New report shows how PALCI’s 82 member libraries generate collective returns on their institutions’ existing investment through active participation in shared licensing, governance, and resource sharing, and gives library leaders a tool to demonstrate that value to their institutions.
DREXEL HILL, Pa., July 20, 2026. This week the Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration and Innovation (PALCI) released its 2025-26 Annual Impact Report, Leading with Impact, documenting how the consortium’s 82 member libraries across Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Delaware turned collective action into measurable savings, expanded access, and institutional advantage over the past year.
The report highlights that in addition to more than $16.5 million in collective cost avoidance, the PALCI membership grew again this year to 82 members with the addition of Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Fairmont State University. PALCI closed the year once again with 100 percent member retention, a signal, the report notes, that libraries who join the consortium are finding value in the collaboration.
