We initially introduced the PALCI Fellows Opportunity Fund Program at our Annual PALCI Business Meeting on June 6th, and now we’re delighted to formally announce the program’s call for proposals!
CALL FOR PROPOSALS – DUE AUGUST 31
The PALCI Board of Directors has established a PALCI Fellows Opportunity Fund Program which offers a unique chance for individuals employed by PALCI member libraries to “Shine a Light” or “Clear a Path” for PALCI.
What is it? – A $3,000 PALCI Board designated fund set up to support individuals employed by PALCI member libraries who are “shining a light” or “clearing a path” for PALCI. Individuals may submit proposals for up to $1,500 in funding to support an initiative that meets the program’s guidelines. We aim to support at least two PALCI Fellows this year, or more as funding allows.
How do you apply? – Submit a brief proposal outlining what you aim to do, and how the funds would help you in shining a light or clearing a path for PALCI in accordance with the application details attached below.
How will proposals be selected? – Proposals will be selected using a competitive review process. Full consideration will be given to proposals submitted by August 31, with rolling consideration for proposals made after that date, based on availability of funds.
What kinds of initiatives would qualify? Examples of eligible initiatives and activities may include but are not limited to the following: Attending conferences as a presenter; publishing articles with Open Access fees; participating in up-skilling opportunities or technical trainings; traveling and attending meetings that advance PALCI priorities; or other activities that contribute to professional development, collaboration, and strategic advancement within PALCI.
Why? – With these dedicated funds, PALCI aims to empower its members to advance their professional development, contribute to collaborative initiatives, and enhance the collective impact of the consortium. By investing in the expertise and growth of its members, PALCI aims to strengthen its position as a leader in academic library collaboration and innovation.
